If we are going to ask men and women to serve in the role of emergency responders, then it is our professional and moral responsibility to find ways to help our emergency responders and ensure they have a long successful career from which they can retire and be psychologically intact.
Any approach to behavioral health in first responders needs to take into account the culture of the department. Although different fire departments or different police departments may have similarities, there are also differences. It is my goal to understand the specific culture of the organizations I work with to design a unique behavioral health system of care that more directly addresses the specific needs of that department.
I work with all branches of emergency services, including fire, law enforcement, EMS, dispatch, corrections. For a more detailed bio, please select the About Me button.
