Dr. Long holds a doctorate in psychology from the University of the Rockies in Colorado and specializes in emergency responder behavioral health. She has spent the last nine years working with emergency responder agencies in the Southern Colorado Region (see below).
Dr. Long helps emergency responder agencies create and maintain peer support programs, deliver education and training on behavioral health issues and resiliency. (See resume and awards.)
Prior to her work with emergency responders, she was the Director of Outpatient Services at the Warrior Support Center where behavioral health services were provided to active-duty and retired military with post traumatic stress.
She also held a position at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS), where she taught graduate and undergraduate courses in psychology and served as a member of a research team in the Trauma, Health and Hazards Center (THHC). (See publications below.)
